should I build or should I buy...

I'm still undecided on whether or not I should build my next computer or simply purchase it from buy.com or someplace like that.  Then I think, I could get an iMac and run any OS I want to.  Then I think, I work at SVSU and cannot afford that route.  So I'm back to build or buy cheap, leaning toward build desktop & buy cheap laptop.  I don't know...  I'm sooooo confused!!!  argh!!!  But on the bright side of things, I'm saving money since I can't make up my mind!

I found watching encoded movies off your local machine to be a bit choppy, Windows Media Center does a better job at that. Over all Boxee offers much more flexibility than WMC and doesn't seem to have the choppy video issues when watching streaming media from Hulu (when it works) or the other internet content providers. The really cool thing is the fact that I can add my own rss feeds for content that I'm interested in watching, something that WMC seems to be lacking.
